When you are in need of a low impact environmentally friendly erosion control device then the erosion eel may be perfect for your project. The Erosion Eel is a tool that enhances water quality and prevents physical degradation. It can be placed over multiple kinds of environments and is light weight making it accessible to multiple projects.

Despite the Erosion Eel’s weight, it is still able to handle high flow flooding during storm events and can even prevent some areas from facing any. They are reusable from project to project and when it has reached the end of its lifespan the rubber in it can be cleansed and reused in new erosion eels that are produced.

Why an Erosion Eel over a silt fence

At first glance, an erosion eel may seem like it’s just another version of a silt fence. However, there are differences between the two that you may want to consider before you make your purchase.

If you are unsure which product is better for your project then feel free to ask us for assistance. We can help you decide if a silt fence or an Erosion Eel is better for the project you are working on.

Transportation

When you install a silt fence it is typically done with the intention of keeping it in a single location for a long period of time. An erosion eel can be moved at your discretion and for the purposes of the project.

Installation

There is no trenching required with the Erosion Eel. Simply take it and place it where it needs to be used. You place it on top of the ground as opposed to placing it in the dirt. Compared to something like the silt fence which needs to be dug in a little. Both are easy installation, but one requires a little bit more work and won’t apply to multiple terrains the same way an Erosion Eel will.
